LAUNDRY CARE SYMBOLS

Having trouble deciphering the symbols on the tag of your garment?

No worries, we've got a symbol guide for you.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

We’ve put together some guidelines for you to get the most out of your sportswear.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Sportswear, more than any other type of garment, is exposed to a rougher environment and treatment than your regular walk in the park so taking care of your sports garments after using them is crucial. The better the care, the longer they will serve you.

We've got some tips to help you preserve the function of your sportswear for as long as possible:

General advice

  • Don't use a fabric softener, as it "envelops"  the fibres and therefore prevents the fabrics to transport moisture. It will also ruin the sweat-wicking function and the odour control of the clothes.

  • Don't use bleach. It will damage the clothes.

  • Don't tumble-dry your sportswear.

  • There is no need to iron the garments.

  • Do not wear backpacks with any of the shirts and singlets. The fabrics are extremely delicate and the abrasion will damage the clothes.

Polyester

This includes all shirts, orienteering pants, representative wear and bike wear.

  • Do not wear backpacks with any of the shirts and singlets. The fabrics are extremely delicate and the abrasion from any other rough materials will damage the clothes.

  • We recommend you machine wash them with cold water at a maximum of 40 degrees.

  • All shirts with sublimation print (basically all shirts) should be treated as white garments. Don't worry, the print will not fall. Sublimation printing is something that doesn't wash out. It is also fixed and it will not colour the rest of your clothes.

  • Representative wear, -  jackets, vests and pants (both Trace and Silvus models), can be washed with white or coloured clothes. The fabrics we use have been treated against colour migration so the LYCRA® panels will not colour the rest of your clothes. Do not wash them with black clothes if there is any sublimation print on your representative wear - it might damage the colours.

  • Orienteering pants can be washed with coloured and dark clothes.  Do not wash them with black clothes if the pants are with print - it might damage the colours.

Membrane

This includes softshells, windbreakers and DWR clothing

Don't wash your softshells more than necessary. Most of the time you can simply use a damp cloth to clean the surface.

We recommend you machine wash them with cold water at a maximum of 30 degrees on a delicate machine cycle.

Wash with coloured clothes.

Close all zippers and Velcro openings before washing. This will help preserve the shape of the garment and will also prevent accidental tears or other damage.

Stretch fabrics

This includes all tights.

  • We recommend you machine wash them with cold water at a maximum of 40 degrees.

  • Wash with similar colours or with white and coloured clothes if the tights are printed. Don't worry, the print will not fall. Sublimation printing is something that doesn't wash out. It is also fixed and it will not colour the rest of your clothes.
